Over the trailing 365 days, 16 different people have filed Form 4s at SCHWAB CHARLES CORP (SCHW). The most active of them is Schwab Charles R., listed as a Director, who recorded 27 open market sales worth $185,834,180 and no purchases in the window. Across the whole roster, open market sales come to $334,531,453.

Working down the roster in order: Bettinger Walter W, a Director, filed 10 sales totaling $91,838,631 with no buys. Craig Jonathan M., listed as Other, filed 7 sales totaling $13,852,445. Schwab-Pomerantz Carolyn, a Director, filed 9 sales totaling $13,227,649. Murtagh Nigel J, listed as Other, filed 8 sales totaling $11,526,567.

Sixteen people on file, one purchase among them, and more than three hundred million dollars moving the other way

Continuing: Howard Dennis, listed as Other, filed 5 sales totaling $6,789,612. Woolway Paul V, also listed as Other, filed 6 sales totaling $3,662,778. Those three names sit in the middle of the roster by activity count rather than by any ranking we have assigned.

The one buyer on the list is Wurster Richard A, the CEO, with a single open market purchase of $1,849,607 and no sales in the window. The purchase on file carries a transaction date of October 1st, 2026. It is the only Form 4 code P entry among the ten names shown.

The last two names on the roster are smaller in dollar terms. Beatty Jonathan S, listed as Other, filed 9 sales totaling $1,826,368. Morgan Peter J. III, also listed as Other, filed 2 sales totaling $1,502,107.

Only Form 4 codes P and S are counted here. Awards, tax withholding and option exercises are excluded, which matters at a company where equity compensation is a standing part of senior pay. A name that shows nine sales and no buys may simply be converting vested stock on a schedule, and the roster as published cannot tell those apart from discretionary decisions.

For scale, SCHW last traded at $96.70 against a market capitalization of $167,226,753,024. The company sits in the Security Brokers, Dealers and Flotation Companies group. Against a float that size, even the largest seller on this roster is moving a small slice of the outstanding shares, and the purchase is smaller still.

A roster like this one tells you who filed and what code they filed under. It does not tell you conviction. A director who files once in a year is not making a statement about valuation, and a long tenured holder selling repeatedly may be diversifying, funding a trust, settling a tax bill, or working through a plan set months earlier. Equally, a single purchase by a sitting CEO is one data point, not a forecast, and nothing in the filing explains the reasoning behind it. The useful read is the shape of the group: who is on file at all, how often, and in which direction.
