Congressional stock trading is one of the most-watched feeds in the market, and unlike most market chatter it is a matter of public record. Here is what the latest reporting window actually holds, rather than what it is usually said to hold.

Across 400 disclosures covering trades dated 23 July to 28 August 2026, members reported 259 sales against 141 purchases — close to two sales for every buy. The party split was almost even: 204 filings from Democrats, 196 from Republicans. The House filed 341 of the 400; the Senate, 59.

The single most-bought name was Goldman Sachs, which appears in 22 separate purchase disclosures. The rest of the top of the list is a mix of defensives, megacap technology and power.

The largest disclosed purchases in the window are Nancy Pelosi's. Two Bloom Energy buys fall in the $1,000,001–$5,000,000 band, dated 23 and 24 July, with two more in the $500,001–$1,000,000 band the following week. Two Intel purchases sit in the $500,001–$1,000,000 band on the same two July dates.

Two features of this data decide how much weight it can carry. Amounts are bands, not figures: a filing that reads $1,000,001–$5,000,000 is a five-fold range, so any total built from these reports is an estimate with a wide mouth. And the reporting lag is real — the STOCK Act allows up to 45 days after a transaction, which is why an August trade can surface in September.

The third caveat is the one most often missed: a disclosure names the filer, not always the decision-maker. Many cover a spouse's account or a family trust, which is why the filer with the most disclosures in this window is rarely the name in the headlines.

Congressional filings are a separate regime from the SEC Form 4 record that drives the rest of this site; both are public, and neither is a recommendation. Figures here were compiled and reviewed by InsiderBuying.com on 11 September 2026.
