Editorial Policy
How we source, write, check and correct what we publish.
Last updated: October 29, 2026
What we publish
InsiderBuying.com reports and analyzes public filings. Our coverage is built on SEC Form 4 insider transactions, congressional periodic transaction reports, Form 13F institutional holdings, exchange closing prices and published macroeconomic releases. We do not recommend securities, publish price targets, or tell readers to buy, sell or hold anything.
Who writes and who checks
Every article names a writer and an editor, and both link to a profile page listing their background and credentials. Articles generated from data feeds are attributed to the IQS Financial Desk rather than to a person, because inventing a human byline for an automated page would misrepresent how it was made. Those pages are still fact-checked and signed by a named editor.
Where the numbers come from
Every figure in a data-driven article is stored with its source, its filing accession number or price date, and the time it was retrieved. A number that cannot be traced to a record is not printed. Articles link to a methodology page naming the screen that selected them, the thresholds in force, and the filings behind the figures.
Automated checks before publication
Data-driven articles pass an automated gate before they publish. It rejects an article whose body contains a number absent from the stored data, whose price data is more than one trading day old, whose headline makes a price claim the current close does not support, or which is missing its disclosure and methodology links. A failed check blocks publication and is logged; it is not overridden.
Editorial review
An editor reads published coverage and either approves it or returns it. An article that has been reviewed names its reviewer in its structured data; one that has not yet been read makes no such claim. A returned article is withdrawn and fixed at its source rather than patched on the page, so the correction reaches every article the same fault affected.
Corrections
Filings are amended and restated by the filers themselves, and our pipelines re-ingest amendments and recompute the affected figures. If you find an error, email george@insiderbuying.com with a link to the page. Verified data errors are corrected at the source so every affected page updates. Our full corrections policy is published separately.
What this coverage is not
Nothing on this site is investment advice, and no part of it is personalised to your circumstances. Insider buying and congressional disclosure are public records, not predictions: a filing tells you what somebody did and when they reported it, and nothing about what a security will do next. Disclosures report value ranges rather than amounts, so figures derived from them are labelled with the basis used.
Independence and paid content
Articles about companies that pay us for investor-relations services are labelled as sponsored and are excluded from the organic Top Stories rotation. Sponsored placement never changes a figure, a score, or whether a company appears in a data-driven screen.
